Mirah is from Liquorice's 2nd litter and her sire is Chaska, a liver boy imported from Sweden. She is a wild girl and has been from day one. She was the first born to our Fruit of the Spirit litter. Mirah chose us, at 6 weeks old those long legs helped her escape from the puppy pen and move in with the family. I would find her curled up with one of the family dogs, not in the puppy area with her litter mates. What could I say, she had to stay.
Her puppy training started with Gill Painter and we also attended clicker gundog training with Dale Fabian. Mirah do most things with gusto, and despite her very energetic, crazy, bouncing off the walls free spirit, she is actually a very obedient and willing to please girl. I just love her energy and passion for life.
She achieved her Canine Good Citizen gold certificate at 10 months of age, her breed champion title in June 2013 and was awarded her APT title in May 2014. She was just brilliant during the aptitude test and the judges were very impressed with her performance and general character.
She is a good worker and participated in the Cape Field Trial Club Retriever Trials in September 2014. She was placed 3rd in the Maiden Stake, received her first SAHR points and was awarded the Angel’s Cup for the Best Flatcoated Retriever on the day. It was a very proud moment.
Mirah gave birth to the most beautiful puppies in April 2015, 10 puppies born to our Love Song litter, 7 girls and 3 boys. Sambuca is the very proud sire.
She was an exceptionally brilliant mother. It was obvious that she truly loved and enjoyed raising her puppies. One little girl, our Phoebe, remained at Zimzala with her mom.
