Meet Delft

Our sweet dainty little girl Delft and her brother Jasper arrived in South Africa very late at night on Thursday 24 November 2016. Jasper has joined his new family, Jacques and Janine Hugo in Johannesburg, and Delft has burrowed her sweet little self deep into our hearts. She is growing into the sweetest, gentlest, most adoring little girl. She has a grace and elegance that reminds sooo much of our sweet Pastis, from the way she jumps up on the bed, to the way she very proficiently surfs every unguarded counter. A real little thinker, you can see those cogs turning in that little head, figuring out every detail of her environment and what is expected of her. She is a joy to train and makes everything seem effortless and easy. We are enjoying our journey together.

To date she has participated in her first Gundog Retriever Test, where she was placed second, despite being ill for most of the term, she also passed her Canine Good Citizen Bronze, Silver and Gold Tests with flying colours. A month later she participated in her first official Retriever Trial. She proved herself a little star and was awarded 1st Place in the Cape Gundog Club Puppy Stake. At just 12 months old she participated in the Cape Field Trial Club Retriever Trials - Junior Stake, and was awarded a Certificate of Merit. May 2018 she was awarded her Dog Mentality Assessment Certificate (DMA). In June 2018, at 22 months old, she was awarded her 5th Championship Certificate, qualifying for her breed champion title. During the CFTC Retriever Trials held in September 2018, she completed her first Maiden Stake, but also completed the Field Qualifying stake, earning her FQ title. She is a very sweet and versatile little girl and a most loving and trusting young Flatcoat. She has already achieved so much in her short life and I am looking forward to our adventures ahead.

She is a joy and a true blessing in our home and loved by all.
